Hotels with a naturist spa or adult spa
A wellness area reserved for adults, and in some cases to be enjoyed without swimwear as correct sauna practice requires. Outside South Tyrol this is rare: almost everywhere in Italy the spa is open to families. These are the properties that chose otherwise.
Castelrotto, Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol, Italy

The ABINEA is on via Panider, one hundred and fifty metres from the old centre of Castelrotto, the village at one thousand and sixty metres from which you climb to the Alpe di Siusi and the Sciliar. It is a four-star hotel that also welcomes families, but the property states that at least part of the wellness area is reserved for adults: the Sauna & Relax area and the Vitarium Alpinum are not accessible to under-14s. The Dolomiti Pool stays open to everyone.

Tux, Austria

A four-star superior hotel in the hamlet of Madseit, in the municipality of Tux at the foot of the Hintertux glacier, at a little over 1,400 metres: families are at home here, with family suites and ski schools for children, but the sauna department is reserved for guests from 14 years upwards, open every day from 13 to 20. The panoramic pool, by contrast, stays open to everyone from 7 to 22.

Agritur Sedici is a seven-room farm stay on the hill of Tenna, in the Valsugana, facing Lake Caldonazzo. Children are accepted in the rooms, but the wellness area with a sauna and steam room is reserved for over-sixteens.

Curon Venosta, Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol, Italy

The Aktiv- und Wellnesshotel Traube Post is on the via Claudia Augusta, in the centre of the village of Curon Venosta, at one thousand five hundred and twenty metres and a few hundred metres from the submerged bell tower of Lake Resia. The house welcomes families and dogs, and divides the wellness area in two: the Vivana Spa is declared adults only, reserved for guests from 16 years upwards and without swimwear, while families have a spa of their own, the water world and the textile saunas.
