Description
The Adler Inn Tyrol Mountain Resort is at Madseit 690, that is in the hamlet of Madseit in the municipality of Tux, at the head of the Tuxertal in Tyrol, at a little over 1,400 metres and at the foot of the Hintertux glacier, where you can ski all year round. It is a four-star superior hotel and welcomes families without reservation: it has a Premium Family Suite, dedicated offers, two ski schools for children and mini clubs up on the mountain. The wellness area, however, follows another rule, and that is why the property appears in this list.
The rule that concerns adults
Among the practical information the house publishes the opening hours with the age beside them: the sauna department is indicated as an area from 14 years upwards, open every day from 13 to 20, with two evenings a week when pool and saunas stay open until 23. The pool, by contrast, opens from 7 to 22 with no age limit, and the whirlpool tub from 13.30 to 19.30. It is therefore a division by area, not by timetable: anyone bringing children under fourteen knows from the outset that they will never go into the cabins.
What there is in the Mountain Spa
The department covers over two thousand square metres and the house counts fourteen saunas, relaxation areas and water attractions. The cabins are the Hot Glacier, a panoramic Finnish sauna at ninety degrees with intense infusions and direct access outdoors, the Just Bio and Herbs, a herbal bio sauna at fifty-five degrees, the Dress on Glacier, a pine sauna at fifty degrees, and the herbal steam bath at forty-five. To these are added the waterfall with the water circuit and the private showers, the outdoor salt whirlpool tub Let the Sole fly, at thirty-six degrees and with four per cent salt, open all year round, and the indoor Adler INNdoor Pool facing the mountains of the Zillertal. For rest there are the Water Relax area with heated water beds, the Physiotherm nests, the Happy Swing Wing with its swinging loungers and the Mountain View lounge. Completing the picture are the spa bistro, the massage cabins and a two hundred and fifty square metre fitness area. Outside, the lawn with loungers looks over the pastures and woods of the valley.
The rest of the house
Dogs are welcome, with a supplement of thirty euros a day, but the property specifies that they may not enter the restaurants or the wellness area. From the Comfort Double Room Glacier category upwards a place in the underground garage with direct access to the hotel is included; for the lower categories it costs five euros a day. The rooms run from the Classic rooms of the Zillertal to the Golden Eagle penthouse suites. The house shuttle runs to the lifts of the Hintertux glacier and the Zillertal 3000.
Who it suits
It suits anyone who wants to ski all year round and to find on their return a sauna department that children do not enter, accepting that the hotel around them is full of families. It suits less anyone looking for an entirely adult house, because it is not one, and anyone travelling with youngsters between twelve and fourteen: they stay outside the cabins.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Adler Inn at Hintertux an adults-only hotel?
No. It is a four-star superior hotel that welcomes families, with a Premium Family Suite, dedicated offers, two ski schools for children and mini clubs up on the mountain. What is reserved for adults is the sauna department of the Mountain Spa alone.
From what age can you enter the sauna department and at what times?
From 14 years. The property indicates the sauna department as an area from fourteen years upwards, open every day from 13 to 20, with two evenings a week when pool and saunas stay open until 23.
Do you wear swimwear in the sauna?
The house writes the rule for one cabin only: the Dress on Glacier, the pine sauna at fifty degrees, is indicated as the experience for guests in swimwear. That name serves to distinguish it from the others, the Finnish Hot Glacier, the herbal bio sauna and the steam bath, where the usual Austrian practice applies and swimwear is not worn: you go in wrapped in a towel. For the other cabins the website does not write the rule out in full, so anyone who wants certainty should ask in writing before setting off.
What can children use and where is the resort?
The indoor Adler INNdoor Pool, from 7 to 22, and the outdoor salt whirlpool tub, from 13.30 to 19.30, stay open to everyone. The resort is at Madseit 690, in the hamlet of Madseit in the municipality of Tux, in Tyrol, at a little over 1,400 metres, at the foot of the Hintertux glacier, with a house shuttle to the lifts.
