Azalo Country House

Azalo Country House is in the countryside between Noto and Avola, in the Val di Noto. The two sources do not give the same address: Booking writes Strada Statale 115 at Noto, the property's website writes Strada Privata dei Limoni at Avola, and the owners' presentation adds that Azalo is one kilometre from the old town of Noto. The Cathedral of Noto is two point nine kilometres away according to Booking's description, the Vendicari nature reserve eleven, the Cavagrande del Cassibile reserve fourteen. The beaches of the area, from la Loggia at Calabernardo to Marina di Noto, are between six and seven kilometres away. Noto station is two point one kilometres away, that of Avola five. For Comiso airport the same page publishes two figures, sixty-eight kilometres in the list of airports and seventy-five in the description; Catania Fontanarossa is eighty-five away, and the property arranges a shuttle for a fee.

Booking classifies it as a country house. The owners write that the estate stretches over two terraced hills planted with olive and almond trees and that the accommodation consists of large suites plus a villa with a private pool, all with a kitchen or kitchenette. In the list of rooms there appear junior suites with a garden view, suites with a pool view and suites with a terrace. The accommodation has a patio, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bidet and courtesy set; some have a fridge, a dishwasher and a hob. Free WiFi covers the whole property and free private parking is on site. Italian, English and Spanish are spoken.

The panoramic pool has a solarium terrace in the Mediterranean vegetation, with loungers and two shading pergolas; the second pool is the private one of the villa, and Booking indeed counts two pools among the highlighted facilities. A spa with a sauna or a Turkish bath is not stated by either of the two sources. The Terrazza Agapanthus is given over to massages with natural products and to fitness or yoga in the open air, and Booking puts massages among the highlighted facilities, while in the property quality block it lists under Wellness massages, couples' massages and beauty services; the property's website speaks of a wellness area with massages, wellness treatments, a fitness area and a hydromassage tub, and the tub is not named on Booking. The Terrazza Mistral and the Giardino dei Carrubi are spaces for reading or for an aperitif, and the Bar Los Moros with the Bistrot Radix serve the Sicilian breakfast, which Booking gives as buffet or Italian.

On the age the two sources agree. Booking's children's conditions block says that children are not allowed, and adds that there are neither cots nor extra beds on site; the property's website presents it as a house exclusively for adults only. Neither of the two publishes a figure for guests: the twenty-one years that appear on Booking are the minimum age for check-in, which is a different matter. The page was read twice, with a five-year-old child in the search and without children, and the text does not change.

The rest of the rules: arrival from fifteen to twenty, departure at ten, with a surcharge for late arrivals up to twenty-two to be agreed. Pets are not allowed, smoking is not permitted, parties and events are not organised, and the house is not given over to stag or hen celebrations. Quiet applies between twenty-two and nine. A security deposit by credit card is required, along with a rental contract to be signed and returned before arrival.
