Alguest

Alguest is at via Luigi Canepa 71, in a residential district of Alghero outside the walls. Booking measures nine hundred metres from Las Tronas beach, one and a half kilometres from the marina and from the cathedral of Santa Maria, and eleven kilometres from the Palmavera Nuraghe; the property website puts eight hundred and twenty metres to the Coral Museum and nine kilometres to Alghero-Fertilia airport. The hosts write that the area is quiet, that you sleep without night-time noise and that free public parking is near the property.

The building is recent and the management is a family one: Marta and Stefano describe opening it after a spell abroad, with the idea of offering what they themselves would look for in a bed and breakfast. There are five rooms, all for two people: a large double, a standard double and three deluxe rooms with a balcony. Some look onto a terrace facing the rooftops of the centre.

The fittings are the same in every room: private bathroom with bidet, hairdryer and toiletries, air conditioning and heating, television, desk, minibar, kettle and a capsule coffee machine with tea and snacks, free wifi, bed linen and towels. There is no pool, sauna, steam bath or massage room: it is a city guest house, not a property with a wellness area. On breakfast the two sources do not say the same thing, and it is worth asking before booking: in the host's text on Booking a rich breakfast is mentioned, while the room pages on the official website do not include it in the stay.

The rule on age is published by Booking in its Child policies block: children aged at least fourteen are welcome, and the property declares that it has no cots or extra beds. The official website does not repeat the threshold. Pets are not allowed, there is no smoking and no parties; cash payment is accepted and check-in requires at least eighteen years of age. The hosts speak Italian, English and Spanish.
