Camogli and the Portofino park
Camogli is a fishing village with coloured houses facing the little harbour, inside the Portofino nature park. From there start the paths towards San Fruttuoso and Punta Chiappa, reachable on foot or by boat. It is the most frequented part of the province in summer and the most pleasant in spring and autumn.
Santo Stefano d'Aveto, the Genoese mountains
Inland the landscape changes completely: woods, paths, a stone village with the castle dominating the town and, in winter, snow. The city of Genoa, with its carruggi, the old port and its museums, remains the fallback destination for a day when the sea is not needed. Between coast and hinterland the province offers two climates and two different rhythms, and for a couple that means being able to change the air without changing holiday.
