Cruccùris Resort - Adults Only

The Cruccuris is in via Cruccuris, on the hill behind Villasimius, in the south eastern corner of Sardinia: it is not a hotel on the shoreline but a hamlet, with its residences and suites spread between the central building and three small villages set in a tropical garden. The beach it uses is Campulongu, served by a partner beach club and reached with the property's free shuttle. It accepts guests aged sixteen and over.

Two swimming pools, no sauna: what is here and what is missing

The water here is all outdoors. There are two pools and each has a name: the Baia delle Palme, the more striking of the two, with its whirlpool area and solarium among the palms, and the Oasis, smaller and more secluded, with its own sunbeds. Both stay open from nine in the morning to seven in the evening, with bar and kitchen service reaching as far as the poolside.

The wellness area follows the same sober approach: there is a sensory shower next to the whirlpool, there are the house wellness rituals, massages and treatments that can be booked on request, and there is a gym corner for those who do not want to miss their training. What there is not is a sauna, and there is no steam bath: the list of facilities published by the property does not name them, and anyone setting off in search of steam must reckon with that absence.

Meals are taken at the Cruccuris Restaurant, at the Bisu Bistrot American Bar or as dinner on the terrace facing the sunset; there is free private parking, hire of pedal assisted bicycles and a meeting room that can be reconfigured. Dogs and cats are welcome, with complimentary bowls and litter tray on request. It is the address for a couple who want the quiet of the garden and the sea a few minutes away, not for those looking for a fully equipped spa.
