Chalet Lidia

Chalet Lidia is at via Sopra le Mura 11, inside the centre of Sorrento: Booking measures seven hundred metres from the city centre and four hundred from the Spiaggia di Sorrento, with Parco Ibsen six hundred metres away, piazza Sant'Antonino six hundred and fifty and piazza Tasso seven hundred and fifty. The Circumvesuviana station is one kilometre and two away, Napoli Capodichino airport forty-nine kilometres, with a shuttle at extra cost. The property is in a restricted traffic zone: anyone arriving by car should talk to the house about it first.

There are two units and that is enough to say what kind of place this is. The Chalet is an independent unit of twenty-three square metres, with a private kitchenette, a patio and a view over the garden; the Suite with Garden View is thirty-seven square metres, also with a patio and a view over the garden. Both have air conditioning, soundproofing, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, a kettle and a private bathroom, and free wifi covers the whole property. Management is by the family: the host who signs the page is Gennaro Gargiulo.

The rule on age is written in the children's conditions on Booking and leaves no margin: children are not allowed, and the property provides neither cots nor extra beds. The eighteen years that appear just below concern only check-in, not who may stay. The house publishes no official website, so Booking remains the only source on the age.

The garden is the centre of the house: there is an open-air pool, seasonal, with sun loungers and parasols below the stone wall, a lawn with olive trees and a pergola with the long table where breakfast is taken. Booking also lists a terrace, bicycle hire and a massage service. There is no wellness area as such: a sauna, a Turkish bath and a hydromassage tub are not declared by any source.

Breakfast is included and is served as a buffet, with a continental, Italian, English and Irish choice, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Pets are not allowed, smoking is not permitted and parties are not organised. Arrival is from 14.00 to 19.30 and has to be notified in advance; the pool is seasonal, so outside the warm months the garden is what remains.
