Description

The AQUA DOME is at Oberlängenfeld 140, in Längenfeld, in the Ötztal: the address reads on Booking as Oberlängenfeld 140, 6444 Längenfeld, and the same address is in the Expedia directory. The house presents itself as a four star superior hotel linked to the thermal baths by a heated passage walked in a bathrobe, and describes itself as the most modern thermal resort in the Alps. Booking lists it as Aqua Dome 4 Sterne Superior Hotel and Tirol Therme Längenfeld, with four stars. The centre of the village is a few minutes away on foot.

Children are allowed, and here the property is also equipped for them. The website lists the Alpen Arche Noah with its water slides, the AQUAKI water park, the children's pools and a play world; the children's activity programme is held every day from 10 to 18 for children aged three and over who are no longer in nappies, and in the holiday periods there is childcare in the hotel, while for children under three the house offers a babysitting service by the hour. Babies are welcome, with a swim nappy, and the children's pools are filled with spring water; pushchairs go into the thermal baths with a hygienic wheel cover and a loan pushchair is available on site. On the thermal baths' price list children up to three years do not pay, from three to fourteen years there is a reduced rate and from fifteen years the adult rate applies. Booking, in the children's conditions, read twice, with a five year old child in the search and with group_children=0, states in both readings that children of all ages are welcome, with a free cot on request from zero to two years and an extra bed from three years and over, in bands up to fourteen. In neither reading does an Adults only marker appear. Among the rooms the website lists family rooms with a connecting door and the family suite with a separate living room.

The division by age is written twice, in the same words. The A bis Z guide answers the question whether the sauna area is without swimsuits like this: "Ja, die Saunawelt der AQUA DOME Therme ist textilfrei zugänglich. Der Zutritt ist Gästen ab 15 Jahren gestattet". And the thermal baths' price list extends it to three areas in a single line: "Zutritt und Nutzung von Sauna, SPA 3000 und Fitnesscenter ab 15 Jahren gestattet". So the threshold of fifteen years applies to the sauna world, to the SPA 3000 and to the fitness centre, and the same page repeats it in the supplements, where the surcharge for the sauna world and that for the fitness centre are given "ab 15 Jahren".

The reserved area is large. The sauna world counts nine saunas and steam baths over 2,000 square metres, and the house describes it one installation at a time: the Steinsauna, a Finnish sauna with automatic infusions from eighty to one hundred degrees and humidity between six and fifteen per cent; the Heustadlsauna hay sauna at about seventy degrees with thirty per cent humidity; the Soledampfbad in grey stone at about forty-five degrees with humidity at one hundred per cent; the Kräuterbadl in stone and marble at about fifty degrees; the Zirbenwärme resting area at about thirty degrees, with hanging infrared-heated loungers in stone pine wood; the Gartensauna, the Finnish sauna of the new sauna garden, which is reached by a glass lift from the Schluchtensauna and has loungers along the stream, a view of the mountains and a waterfall; the Schluchtensauna at eighty-five degrees with a central hearth and an outlook over a gorge of the Ötztal; the Dampfdome in black and white marble, where the treatments use salt with more than seventy trace minerals; and the Loft Sauna. The infusions are held up to twelve times a day, and the website publishes an infusion timetable. Beside it, in the Solegrotte with its salt water pool, you cool down after the steam bath.

The SPA 3000 is the premium area reserved for hotel guests and for those who book the deluxe day spa package, and it is set out over two floors. Inside there are the Moosgumpe, a pool at thirty-four degrees surrounded by moss walls and resting beds, with the herbal tea veranda; the Ötztaler Mineralbad with its infusion and peeling ceremony and the Schweberuhe where the salts work on the airways; the bar with its fireplace under a glass facade in the shape of a peak, eight metres high; the terrace, which is lit with torches in the evening; and the Längenfelder Badl'n, with massage jets and thermal water at thirty-six degrees looking out over the valley. There is also a Private SPA Suite for two people, with a Finnish sauna, a steam bath for two, a Bovi bath for two and a massage bed. The SPA 3000 was awarded World's Best Mineral and Hot Springs Spa at the World Spa Awards 2026.

On swimsuits the website contradicts itself, and this page says so. The SPA 3000 page declares the whole area free of swimsuits: "Hier befinden Sie sich in einer textilfreien Zone". The A bis Z guide, on the other hand, divides it by floor: "Im SPA3000 (für Hotelgäste inklusive- für externe Gäste zubuchbar) ist der 2 Stock texilfrei. Im 3. Stock ist Textilbekleidung gestattet", with the house's own typing errors. On the sauna world of the thermal baths the two pages agree: you go in without a swimsuit.

The water open to everyone is the twelve indoor and outdoor pools with water from thirty-four to thirty-six degrees, which the house calls the heart of the thermal baths, over 2,000 square metres of water surface; the three shell-shaped outdoor pools, which the property declares its own architectural hallmark, seem to hang above the valley with the three thousand metre peaks around them, and wave-shaped wooden walls create new secluded resting places. The thermal water of Längenfeld comes from a depth of 1,896 metres. On Fridays there is the Mondscheinbaden, bathing by moonlight.

The hours are these: the thermal baths are open every day from 9 to 23, with the pools closing at 22.30, and on Fridays for the Mondscheinbaden until midnight, with the pools closing at 23.30; the sauna every day from 10 to 22, on Fridays until 23; the fitness centre every day from 7 to 22; Treatment and SPA every day from 9 to 19. For hotel guests entry to the thermal baths and to the SPA 3000 is included, and the fitness centre, with modern equipment, classes and supervised exercise programmes, is free.

Beyond the wellness side the house states check-in from 15 and check-out by 11, with the possibility of arriving as early as 9 and using the thermal baths and, on the day of departure, of going on using the thermal baths, sauna and fitness with a supplement per person. The room price includes a bathrobe, towels and a bathing bag, while bathing slippers the house asks you to bring for environmental reasons, and they can be found at reception if needed. All the rooms have a private bathroom, a balcony or terrace and a safe; at booking you can choose between bath and shower. Breakfast is a buffet served in the hotel restaurant from 7 to 11, and for those who swim early there are coffee and croissants in the thermal baths' restaurant from 7 to 9; in the evening you dine in the hotel restaurant or in that of the thermal baths, and during the day you eat at the bar or, in summer, on the terrace. All the packages include breakfast, AlpinVital half board and the thermal baths. Dogs are welcome in some room categories, to be mentioned at booking, with a nightly rate; they are not allowed in the restaurants or in the indoor spaces of the thermal baths, and cats are not allowed in the hotel. The underground garage is paid for, with spaces fitted with a charging point for electric cars subject to availability. Among the most appreciated facilities Booking lists two pools, the spa and wellness centre, the non-smoking rooms, two restaurants, the gym, room service, the rooms and facilities for disabled guests, the private parking, the bar and the breakfast.

Frequently asked questions

Are children allowed at the AQUA DOME?

Yes, and the property is equipped for them. The website lists the Alpen Arche Noah with its water slides, the AQUAKI water park, the children's pools filled with spring water and a play world; the activity programme is held every day from 10 to 18 for children aged three and over who are no longer in nappies, and for the youngest there is a babysitting service by the hour. Booking writes in both readings that children of all ages are welcome, with a free cot from zero to two years.

From what age do you get into the sauna world and the SPA 3000?

From fifteen years, and the property writes it twice. The A bis Z guide answers: "Ja, die Saunawelt der AQUA DOME Therme ist textilfrei zugänglich. Der Zutritt ist Gästen ab 15 Jahren gestattet". The thermal baths' price list extends it to three areas: "Zutritt und Nutzung von Sauna, SPA 3000 und Fitnesscenter ab 15 Jahren gestattet". The threshold therefore also covers the fitness centre.

Do you wear a swimsuit in the sauna?

In the sauna world of the thermal baths, no: the house writes that it is without swimsuits. On the SPA 3000 the website contradicts itself: the page for the area declares "Hier befinden Sie sich in einer textilfreien Zone", while the A bis Z guide divides it by floor, "ist der 2 Stock texilfrei. Im 3. Stock ist Textilbekleidung gestattet", with the house's own typing errors. In the thermal pools, which are open to everyone, a swimsuit is worn.

What stays open to everyone?

The twelve indoor and outdoor pools with thermal water from thirty-four to thirty-six degrees, over 2,000 square metres of water surface, among them the three shell-shaped outdoor pools that the house declares its own architectural hallmark. The Alpen Arche Noah with its slides, the AQUAKI water park and the children's pools also stay open to everyone. The thermal baths are open from 9 to 23, with the pools closing at 22.30, and on Fridays until midnight for bathing by moonlight.

Are animals allowed?

Dogs yes, in some room categories and with a nightly rate, to be mentioned at booking; they are not allowed in the restaurants or in the indoor spaces of the thermal baths, for reasons of hygiene and safety. Cats, the house writes, are not allowed in the hotel. Booking states animals allowed on request, with a possible supplement.
