Description

The Allegria Resort Stegersbach is at Golfstraße 1, on the hill of Fabitsgraben, just outside the centre of Stegersbach, in southern Burgenland, at a little over three hundred metres of altitude. It is a four-star hotel linked by an internal passage to the Therme Stegersbach and looking out over the Golfschaukel, forty-five holes across one hundred and ninety hectares. The house welcomes families without reservations: there are Family rooms of up to seventy-eight square metres, a Family Restaurant, a swimming school and the Badolin Club for the children, and at reception there are cots, kettles and night lights for the little ones. The hotel's two wellness centres, however, are reserved for guests aged 14 and over, and that is the fact worth knowing before booking.

Flüstertherme and Yin Yang Spa, from the age of 14

The Flüstertherme, the whispering thermal bath, is the warm thermal water zone reserved for adults, open every day from 7 to 23, with resting corners and a café inside. The Yin Yang Spa is instead a department the property explicitly calls a nudist area for adults from the age of 14: here you go without swimwear. It includes a bio sauna, a steam bath, infrared barrels with lava-sand technology, indoor and outdoor Finnish saunas, a panorama sauna looking out over the hills of the Südburgenland, an ice fountain and resting surfaces out of sight. The highlight is the Yin Yang Pool, with its open view over the countryside. The hours run from 7 to 21 from Sunday to Thursday and from 7 to 23 on Friday and Saturday. On the website, every single sauna carries the same wording: adults only, from the age of 14.

What is left for children

Everything else, and it is not little. Hotel guests have unlimited entry to the Therme Stegersbach, with indoor and outdoor pools, slides, an active area and Badolin's world for the little ones, and they can go in two hours before the day visitors: from 9 on the day of arrival and until closing time on the day of departure, even after check-out. The thermal bath too has a sauna zone of its own reserved for adults, which comes on top of the hotel's.

Rooms, table and practical matters

The rooms are divided into three worlds, Village, Residenz and Family, from twenty-five to seventy-eight square metres. The board ranges from breakfast only to full board, with buffets, home-made cakes in the afternoon and a sommelier at dinner. Included are the bathing bag with a bathrobe and towels for the whole stay, a free programme of at least nineteen special sauna infusions a day, the panoramic gym open twenty-four hours, wifi throughout the resort, parking in the covered car park or in the golf garage, the Burgenland Card and a free electric bicycle from two nights upwards. Dogs are received in equipped double rooms in the Village and Residenz areas, but they do not enter the restaurant, the evening bar, the pool and the wellness area; the café, on the other hand, yes.

It suits anyone arriving with children who still wants an hour of real silence, and anyone who plays golf. It suits less anyone looking for the mountains, because here you are in the hill country of Burgenland, and anyone who does not feel like undressing: in the Yin Yang Spa swimwear is not worn.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Allegria Resort Stegersbach accept families with children?

Yes, and it is designed for them too: Family rooms, a Family Restaurant, the swimming school, the Badolin Club and the thermal bath with slides and pools for the little ones. The restriction concerns only the hotel's two wellness centres.

From what age can you enter the Flüstertherme and the Yin Yang Spa?

From the age of 14. The official website gives the same threshold for the Flüstertherme, for the Yin Yang Spa and for each of the saunas inside it, and repeats it in the opening hours and in the arrival and departure packages.

Do you go without swimwear in the Yin Yang Spa?

Yes. The property describes it as a nudist area reserved for hotel guests aged 14 and over. Anyone who prefers to stay in swimwear has the Flüstertherme and the pools of the Therme Stegersbach. The bathrobe and towels are included in the stay.

What can children use?

The whole of the Therme Stegersbach, linked to the hotel by an internal passage and included in the stay: indoor and outdoor pools, slides, an active area and Badolin's Kinder-Welt. Hotel guests go in two hours before the day visitors, from 9 on the day of arrival, and may stay until the end of the day even after check-out.
