The hotel is on viale Pietro Caremoli, in Gonte, the hillside hamlet of Oggebbio on the Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore. The website places it in a small village on the hills of Lake Maggiore, away from the city, and on Booking the owners add: away from the traffic and the nightlife; Booking gives Lake Maggiore as zero metres away and a restaurant at one hundred metres, and measures eleven kilometres to the Botanical Gardens of Villa Taranto and eighteen to the Val Grande National Park. The nearest railway station, Porto Valtravaglia, is on the other shore, twelve kilometres away.

It is a fifteen-room hotel founded in the early twentieth century, run by the Vercelli and Santamaria family since 1983: today Nunzio and Francesca are joined by their daughters Veronica and Sara. Most of the rooms look at the lake and some have a small balcony; the bathrooms have toiletries and a hairdryer, the rooms free wifi and a television. There are non-smoking rooms, rooms and spaces for guests with disabilities, a safe and daily cleaning. The private car park is free, as is the closed garage, useful for anyone travelling by bicycle. The property warns that there is no air conditioning and that at night the reception is not staffed: a late check-in must be asked for in advance.

The centre of the day in summer is the garden with a solarium, open in the warm season: small tables and chairs, sun loungers, parasols, an outdoor shower and a small four-person whirlpool tub, connected to the rooms by an external staircase. The property asks for swimwear and for guests to cover up on the way to the restaurant and reception, does not provide bath towels and does not serve at the tables in the garden. The garden closes at half past five. For this space the website publishes a rule of its own: minimum age eighteen. There is no pool, sauna or steam room.

On age the blunter source is Booking, which in the Children conditions block writes that children are not allowed and that the property has no cots or extra beds: the ban concerns the whole house and no figure is published for the hotel as a whole. The property's website does not contradict this rule and publishes the eighteen years only for the garden. The Booking page read with a child in the search and read without says the same thing.

Breakfast is continental and is served between eight and ten, on the terrace facing the lake when the season allows. Since April 2026 the historic restaurant and pizzeria has been closed, but hotel guests can still dine with an à la carte menu, by prior booking only. Arrival is between sixteen and eighteen, departure between eight and eleven. Pets are not allowed and payment is in cash or by debit card.
