A Mennulita

A Mennulita is on via Mendolita, in the upper part of Lipari, just outside the centre of the Aeolian capital. Booking places the cathedral of San Bartolomeo at one and one kilometres, the Regional Aeolian Archaeological Museum at one and two and the Valle Muria beach at one and six: in practice you are close to the town but on a quiet slope, with the countryside around.

The accommodation consists of independent apartments, air conditioned, each with a balcony or terrace and a view over the town. Inside there are a dining area, a kitchen with a hob, a fridge, a coffee machine and a kettle, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and a hairdryer. The wifi is free.

The minimum age is published by Booking in the Children conditions block: children aged at least twelve are welcome, and the property has no cots or extra beds available. The threshold applies to the whole house. No official website of the owners can be found, so the source remains the listing.

There is no pool and no wellness area: the outdoor space is the garden, with its orange and lemon trees, and the wood and cane verandas where you eat outside. The host writes that the main street is ten minutes on foot, the arrival port twenty, and that Porto delle Genti beach, the only swimmable one in the centre of Lipari, is five minutes away.

Pets are not allowed. In summer Lipari is the hub of the connections between the islands and the town stays lively in the evening; in the cold months activity drops off and many services close.
