Description
The Verwöhnhotel Kristall is at Seebergstraße 10, in Pertisau am Achensee, the hamlet of the municipality of Eben am Achensee stretched along the western shore of the lake. The house writes that it stands at the sunniest point of Pertisau and, in its own frequently asked questions, that it is at the entrance to the Karwendel Nature Park, a few minutes from the Achensee. It presents itself as four-star superior, adults only, with Adi Rieser as its host, and Booking confirms it as a four-star hotel. Take care not to confuse it with the other two houses called Kristall in this catalogue, in Gerlos and in Leutasch: they are other municipalities, it is not a duplicate. The same applies to Expedia and Hotels.com, where the page address contains "Schwaz", which is the district and not the village: the address on the page is Seebergstraße 10, 6213 Eben am Achensee, and it matches.
Reserved for adults from the age of fourteen
The rule concerns the whole house. In the website's frequently asked questions, to the question of what an adults hotel means, the property answers like this: it loves children, but it finds that a break for two without children calling out is sometimes restful, and since 2020 the Kristall has been a hotel for adults alone, receiving guests aged 14 and over. The home page repeats it among the seven reasons for choosing the house, and the frequently asked questions sheet published in the structured data says: "Das Verwöhnhotel Kristall in Pertisau am Achensee ist ein Wellnesshotel für Erwachsene und Jugendliche ab 14 Jahren". For guests between their fourteenth and eighteenth birthdays, in a room with two paying adults and in the parents' category, the house applies a reduced rate. Booking agrees, in both readings: children of at least 14 are welcome, and cots and extra beds are not available at this property. The minimum age for check-in given by Booking is 18, which is another matter and does not shift the fourteen.
The Sky Spa and the water
The wellness department is declared at 3,500 square metres, of which 1,400 are the Sky Spa, recently opened. In the Sky Spa the property lists the fully glazed Sky Sauna, at 80 degrees, with a view all round the horizon, the 20-metre indoor infinity pool and the 15-metre outdoor one, with massage niches at the poolside and bubble loungers inside and out, a relax lounge on the ground floor, a chat lounge with niches on the first floor, the sun terrace usable all year round, a bright yoga loft of 70 square metres and the wellness buffet. On the temperature of the two infinity pools the website's pages do not agree: the Wasser-Welt writes 32 degrees, the included services write 31. Outside there is the rest of the water: a natural bathing lake of 215 square metres next to the Sky Spa, with water purified biologically and without chemicals, a natural bathing pond of 170 square metres at the Wellness-Alm, purified by plants and oxygen and used in winter also as a plunge pool, an outdoor whirlpool of 21 square metres in front of the Wellness-Alm and the Kneipp shower circuit with its ice fountain and bucket shower. At the Kristall Spa there is the drinking fountain, with water vitalised according to Johann Grander. Booking, in its highlighted services, counts two pools in both readings and describes them as indoor, outdoor, infinity and heated.
The saunas
The house speaks of nine variants of sauna and steam bath and lists them one by one: the outdoor Finnish sauna next to the natural pond, the Himalayan salt sauna, the Kräuterschwitzstube in the Wellness-Alm, the Swiss pine bio sauna, the Finnish sauna in old Tyrolean wood, the steam bath with a salt scrub, the Dampf-Laconium Sommerwiese, the infrared cabin and the glazed Sky Sauna on the third floor of the Sky Spa. On Tuesdays there is the evening sauna, and during the week the house offers themed Aufgüsse. The relaxation areas have a partly open hearth, water beds, hanging loungers and lounge islands. On swimwear the property publishes no rule, and it is not deduced here: anyone who needs to know before setting off would do well to ask reception. A third party's listing, that of the tourist board, adds that for the day spa guests under 14 do not enter the wellness area; it is consistent with the house's rule, but it is not the property's own website and is reported for what it is.
Table and services
The board is called three-quarter Verwöhnpension: a breakfast buffet until 10.30, a midday snack from 13 to 16.30 with savouries, a salad buffet, regional cakes and fruit, and in the evening a five-course gourmet menu with six choices among Austrian and international specialities and light wholefood cooking, with salad, cheese and ice cream buffets. Once a week there are the Italian buffet, the Asian buffet cooked to order, the buffet of starters, a large dessert buffet and a seven-course gala dinner accompanied by the harp. The kitchen is awarded by Gault & Millau from 2023 to 2026, the house writes. Special diets, vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free, are arranged before arrival; the vegan evening menu carries a surcharge, while gluten-free, lactose-free and individual intolerances cost nothing. By reservation there is a candlelight dinner in five courses in the new gourmet restaurant. Among the included services: wifi throughout the house, a place in the underground garage for every room, the wellness bag with a bathrobe, towels and slippers, room service from 8 to midnight with a surcharge, music at the hotel bar five times a week and a welcome glass. In the underground garage, on the top floor, there are two charging points used with a QR code and paid for by credit card. Booking adds free bicycles, a ski pass sales point, the shared room, the gym and an airport shuttle, and gives arrival from 14 to 22 and departure between 8 and 11; the house's frequently asked questions write instead that the room is ready around 13 and must be left by 11.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed by reservation, with a daily rate per animal, food excluded, and the house states that it will rise from April 2027. The wellness area and the garden with its sunbathing lawn stay reserved for people; for meals there is a Stube where the dog may accompany its owners. Booking writes that pets are welcome, with a possible surcharge, and lists pet bowls.
Who it suits
A couple who want to walk in the Karwendel or ski and come back to a house where there are no small children, with plenty of water, plenty of saunas and a generous table. It also suits anyone travelling with a young person aged fourteen and over, who is admitted here and even has a reduced rate.

Frequently asked questions
Are children allowed at the Verwöhnhotel Kristall?
Only from the age of 14 upwards, and the rule concerns the whole house. In its own frequently asked questions the property writes that since 2020 the Kristall has been a hotel for adults alone, receiving guests aged 14 and over. Booking confirms it in both readings: children of at least 14 are welcome, and cots and extra beds are not available.
Does a fifteen-year-old pay the adult rate?
No. The property writes that between the fourteenth and eighteenth birthday, in a room with two paying adults and in the parents' category, a reduced daily rate applies. Booking gives 18 as the minimum age for check-in instead, which concerns whoever signs for the arrival and not access to the house.
Do you enter the sauna in swimwear?
The property does not state it. The sauna page lists them one by one, from the glazed Sky Sauna to the Himalayan salt sauna, but writes no rule on swimwear, and the frequently asked questions do not either: it is worth asking reception.
How many pools and bodies of water are there?
In the Sky Spa there are the 20-metre indoor infinity pool and the 15-metre outdoor one, with massage niches and bubble loungers. Outside there are a natural bathing lake of 215 square metres, a natural bathing pond of 170 square metres at the Wellness-Alm, an outdoor whirlpool of 21 square metres and the shower circuit with its ice fountain. On the temperature of the two infinity pools the website's pages do not agree, 32 degrees in the Wasser-Welt and 31 in the included services.
Can you bring the dog?
Yes, by reservation and with a daily rate per animal, food excluded; the house states that it will rise from April 2027. The wellness area and the garden with its sunbathing lawn stay reserved for people, while for meals there is a Stube where the dog may accompany its owners. Booking writes that pets are welcome, with a possible surcharge, and lists pet bowls.
Why does the address on Expedia and Hotels.com contain Schwaz?
Because the two portals build the web address on the district and not the village: Pertisau and Eben am Achensee are in the district of Schwaz. On the page the two entries carry the name Verwöhnhotel Kristall and the address Seebergstraße 10, 6213 Eben am Achensee, which is the one published by the property's website.
