All of them take a maximum of two people and share the same fittings: memory bed system, air conditioning, soundproofing, forty nine inch smart TV, minibar with a coffee and tea machine, bathrobe and slippers, safe and electronic door opening.

What to expect, and what not to

Breakfast is served in the morning with sweet and savoury options, and the house has a lift, a shared sitting room, room service, free mineral water in the room and daily sanitising. The staff book restaurants, arrange private visits and handle parking, valet included, a rare convenience in this part of the city, which is closed to traffic.

One point is worth being clear about: there is no wellness area here and there are no whirlpool baths. The baths in Dune, Dulcinea and Oro Blu are ordinary bathtubs. Anyone looking for a spa should look elsewhere; anyone looking for a quiet, private house a short walk from the Duomo has found the right address.
