Monastero Santa Chiara

The Monastero Santa Chiara is at via Santa Chiara 29, in the old centre of Oristano: the statue of Eleonora d'Arborea is three hundred metres away, the archaeological site of Tharros nineteen kilometres and Capo Mannu beach twenty-seven. Cagliari-Elmas airport is ninety-one kilometres away. It is a city address, not a seaside one: you sleep inside the fabric of the centre and reach the coast by car.

The house that holds the units is the monastery of the Poor Clares, founded in 1343 and described by the owners as the only enclosed monastery in Sardinia that opens its doors to travellers. The old cells have been turned into simple rooms, singles and doubles, with a private bathroom, air conditioning, independent access and a view of the garden. Booking classifies the property as a guesthouse and adds a desk, a wardrobe, free wifi, bed linen and towels, a bidet, toiletries and a hairdryer; the rooms are all non-smoking.

The rule on age is stated by Booking in its Child policies block: children are not allowed, and the property has no cots or extra beds. No source publishes a precise figure, so the minimum age remains undeclared; the line that speaks of eighteen years concerns only whoever puts the booking in their name at check-in. The property's website does not contradict the ban: its booking engine asks only for the number of adults.

There is no wellness area and no pool. The shared spaces are the inner garden reserved for guests, with sunbeds and loungers, and a common room; the property provides free bicycles, luggage storage and free parking. Booking notes quiet hours between 22:00 and 06:00, in keeping with the place. Pets are not allowed.
