Domus Terravecchia

Domus Terravecchia is at via Barone 10, on the first floor, in the old centre of Agrigento: the Luigi Pirandello theatre is one hundred metres away. From the windows and from the terrace you look out over the rooftops of the old town, the bell towers and, beyond the houses, the countryside that runs down towards the sea. The Scala dei Turchi is thirteen kilometres away, Eraclea Minoa thirty-seven, Comiso airport one hundred and seventeen, and for the airport the house arranges a shuttle for a fee.

The rooms have a balcony, air conditioning, a flat screen TV, a fridge, an electric kettle, a dining area and a private bathroom with shower, bidet, hairdryer, slippers and complimentary toiletries. Some are soundproofed. The common areas are a lounge with a TV corner, a terrace with outdoor furniture and the room where breakfast is served, set up next to the kitchen. There are also room service, daily cleaning, luggage storage, a tour desk and express check-in and check-out. Parking is not available.

The rule on age is written in the children's conditions on Booking: children are not allowed. Among the general facilities the Adults only entry appears. No figure is published as a minimum age for guests, and Booking states that no minimum age is required for check-in. It should be said that the same page, a little further down, writes that cots are subject to availability: the two lines do not agree, and anyone travelling with a baby would do well to write to the property for confirmation before booking. The domain domusterravecchia.it, which was the house's website, today leads to a third party portal, so there is no longer a direct source from the property.

There is no spa here, no sauna, no steam bath, no hot tub and no swimming pool. Anyone looking for a wellness area should know this beforehand: the B&B relies on its location and its breakfast, not on wellness.

Breakfast is served in the property, and it can also be taken in the room; Booking declares it Italian, American or vegetarian, with menus for special diets on request. Arrival is between 14.00 and 20.30, departure between 7.00 and 10.00. The house is entirely non smoking, parties are not organised, stag and hen celebrations are not accepted and pets are not allowed. The staff speak Italian, English, French and Spanish.
