Description
The Carlton-Europe Vintage Adults Hotel is at Höheweg 92-94, in Interlaken, in the Canton of Bern. Booking places it on the Höheweg promenade, in the heart of the town, and notes the valley station of the Harderbahn funicular at 150 metres on foot; the house, on its own site, calls itself Carlton-Europe Vintage Adults Only Hotel. Couples have given the location a 9.6.
The rule on age is a ban without a figure, and the two sources point the same way. Booking, in the children's conditions block, says that children are not allowed and adds that the property has no availability of cots and extra beds; the 18 years that appear further down are the minimum age for check in, that is standard wording from the booking portal, not the rule of the house. The site of the hotel carries the adults only formula in its name and in the titles of its pages, and its booking engine asks only for the number of adults and rooms, with no counter for children at all. Neither of the two sources names a number: the property does not publish the age.
The site divides the accommodation into Classic and Superior rooms, the Signature Suite, the Aarmühle suite, apartments with hotel service and a holiday house. Booking shows a Superior Triple Room of 26 square metres, a Signature Suite of 45 and an Executive Suite with a rooftop terrace of 99, with two bedrooms; all have an en suite bathroom, a flat screen TV, soundproofing, a coffee machine and a view of the mountains. The WiFi is free and the page also notes rooms and facilities for disabled guests and room service.
Wellness is the part the house talks about most: the Oberländer Wellness Village brings together a classic Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a steam bath, experience showers and Kneipp paths for the feet, and the site says that by booking a Superior room or a Signature Suite entry is already included in the stay; Booking, for the other accommodation, indicates the wellness area available at a supplement. Next to it is the park of the hotel, with a natural pond for swimming and a giant chessboard; the park and the wellness area, the house says, are open every day from 8 to 22, with seasonal variations possible. A hairdresser also works in the hotel. Booking further notes an outdoor swimming pool, at present not available.
At table, the Chalet Beizli restaurant offers the traditional dishes of the Bernese Oberland, fondue and raclette included, and Booking counts three restaurants plus the bar; the site adds the Chimney bar. The buffet breakfast is continental, with vegetarian and gluten free options. The house also arranges events, weddings, seminars and meetings, and presents itself as a hotel for walkers and for cyclists.
The car park is covered, with charging points for electric cars and accessible spaces. Arrival is from 16 to 22 and departure from 7 to 11; at check in a photo identity document and a credit card must be shown, and the property asks guests to say the time of arrival in advance. Pets are allowed on request and a supplement may be charged: the site has a page devoted to guests with a dog. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms.
