Description
The Boutique Hotel Panorama Grindelwald is at Terrassenweg 141, above the centre of Grindelwald, in the canton of Bern. Its website recounts that the history of the house on this spot began more than fifty years ago as a restaurant with a terrace: then rooms were let and the building was enlarged several times, until in 2022 the new owners bought it and began a radical renovation, enlarging all the rooms and all the bathrooms. Among its strong points the house puts the view of the Eiger and of the glacier, the sunny terrace with the panorama, the lounge with the bar and the fireplace, the free parking and the electric charging points.
The age rule is a ban with no figure, and the two sources say the same thing. The website writes that the house is an adults-only hotel, and in the general conditions, under the heading Pets and Children, it puts a single line: children are not allowed in the hotel. Booking, in the children's conditions block, writes that children are not allowed, adds that in the property there are no cots and no extra beds available and states that no minimum age is required for check-in. Neither of the two sources publishes a number: the property does not publish the age.
You sleep in double rooms of 17 square metres, in Comfort rooms of 22, in Superior rooms with a mountain view of 25, in Junior Suites of 27 and in one Grande Suite Mountain View of 32, all for two adults and all with a balcony and a private bathroom. The house writes that all the rooms have handmade king size beds, a fast connection and a large safe, and that the bathrooms have a rain shower, a hand shower and a hairdryer; Booking adds the desk, the flat-screen TV, the wardrobe, the kettle and the coffee machine in every room.
Breakfast is the meal of the house: a buffet of regional products served in front of the mountains, which Booking describes as continental, Italian, American, vegetarian and vegan. The Panorama is a garni and says so explicitly: in the evening there is no restaurant, and the website points to the places to eat in the village and around. In the lounge you read beside the fireplace or look outside, and at the bar you can stop. Booking also notes the garden, the terrace, the ski store and the luggage store.
Parking is free for guests and some spaces have electric charging; bicycles are kept indoors free of charge and charged free of charge, and guests may use the washing machines, the tumble dryers and the ironing board. Arrival is from 16 to 21 and departure from 7 to 11. Pets are not allowed anywhere in the property, parties and events may not be held, and for bookings of more than two rooms the property may apply different conditions and surcharges. In the surroundings Booking gives the Bodmi lifts at 650 metres, the Firstbahn at 1.2 kilometres, the Grindelwald station at 1.6 and the restaurants La Marmite, Hilty Stubli and Lisi-Bisi at 600 metres.
