Balhambra Suites - Adults Only

The Balhambra Suites is in the heart of Fiscardo, the village at the northern end of Kefalonia that has kept its coloured stone houses looking out over the little harbour. The property is on the seafront and on the old village square: restaurants, bars, cafes and shops can all be reached on foot, with no need to take the car out for dinner. It is part of the small Fiscardo Luxury Suites collection, declaredly reserved for adults.

The fifteen suites are furnished on a colonial theme, with dark woods and plain fabrics, and they vary a good deal in size: they run from twenty five to sixty square metres, with a king or queen size bed and, for those looking for a more compact arrangement, an option with a three quarter bed. Every suite has satellite television, a fully equipped kitchen, a balcony, fans or air conditioning and WiFi. The formula is self catering: guests keep to their own hours, do their shopping in the village and eat when they like.

The courtyard and the breakfast terrace

The character of the house can be read in the common spaces. There is a courtyard with a fountain surrounded by olive trees and lavender, shaded and quiet even in the middle of the day, and a breakfast terrace looking out over the mountain and the woods, on the opposite side from the bustle of the harbour.

There is no wellness area and the property does not state one: no sauna, no Turkish bath, no swimming pool. The Balhambra is an address for those who want to be inside Fiscardo, on foot from everything, with the privacy of an independent suite and no children around. It is the right base for those who want to wake up to the passing of the boats and reach the coves and villages of the north coast of the island within the day.
