Avidea - Adults Only

The Avidea is at Plars di Sopra, the upper hamlet of Lagundo that looks down on Merano from above among the apple orchards, with the Texel Group in the background. It is a hotel run by the Bacher family, made of suites rather than rooms, with natural wood, soft rugs and an idea of hospitality that bets on silence: bookings for groups of more than six people are assessed one by one, and the hotel is entirely non-smoking.

Three pools and a complete sauna world

The age rule is clear and applies to the whole house: guests are admitted from 16 years upwards. There is therefore no second wellness area for families, because there are no children in the hotel. The water is spread over three levels. Inside, the indoor pool is kept at 32 degrees and is what makes the Avidea usable in winter and in the shoulder seasons too. Outside, the heated infinity pool has an indoor connection, so guests move from dry to water without stepping out into the cold, and swim while looking at the Merano basin. On the roof, the open-air sky pool is heated and has hydromassage, with the loungers of the sky terrace and the roof garden around it.

The sauna world is complete: bio sauna, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna and infrared cabin. The Turkish bath is therefore there, and for those looking for humid heat it is the confirmation that is often missing elsewhere. The relaxation area has water beds and padded nests, with herbal teas and dried fruit always available. The treatments are by Team Dr Joseph, the South Tyrolean natural cosmetics line, divided between energy, balance and pleasure routes. There is also a fitness room equipped with a treadmill, exercise bike and weights. Pets are accepted on request, with some limits in the common areas.
