Apartamentos RF Bambi Adults Only

The Apartamentos RF Bambi are in calle Enrique Talg, a quiet side street in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, on the north coast of Tenerife. It is the part of town you cover on foot: the black beach of San Telmo, the seafront and the gardens of the Lago Martianez designed by Cesar Manrique are within a walk, while the nightlife stays far enough away not to reach the room.

The property is a mid-range aparthotel run by the RF group, with apartments spread over several floors. Every unit has a fitted kitchen, a living area with a sofa bed and a television, a bathroom with shower and a balcony or terrace. It is the right formula for long stays, the kind that in Puerto de la Cruz last weeks thanks to a climate that stays mild all year round. Reception is open twenty-four hours, the wi-fi is free throughout the house and the private parking is booked in advance for a charge.

Pool and solarium, with no spa

The centre of shared life is the outdoor pool, with the solarium terrace fitted out with loungers where the hours pass between one swim and the next. Let us say it clearly, because it is the commonest source of disappointment in this category: there is no wellness area. The property declares no sauna, steam bath, whirlpool or treatment room, and the pool is not on record as heated. Anyone looking for a spa circuit must turn elsewhere.

Access is reserved for adults, from the age of eighteen. It is the address for anyone who wants an independent, inexpensive base in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz, with the sun of the solarium in place of the massage room.
