B&B Antiche Rime

The bed and breakfast is in località San Martino al Vento 18, the hamlet of Gaiole in Chianti in the province of Siena, and the same address is written by both Booking and the property's website. Booking measures 4.1 kilometres to the Castello di Meleto, twenty-seven to Piazza del Campo, to the Church of San Cristoforo and to Siena station, thirty-two to Piazza Matteotti and thirty-three to Palazzo Chigi-Saracini; Florence Peretola airport is eighty kilometres away. The page warns that the property is not served by public transport and that a car is needed.

The property's website describes it as one of the oldest houses in the village, which keeps the look of the original tower: the owner lives on the ground floor and makes the first and second floors available to guests, one hundred and twenty square metres in all. There are three double rooms, each with a private bathroom with a shower; on the first floor there are a wide living room with a fireplace and a dining room divided from the kitchen by a masonry arch, and a pietra serena staircase leads to the second floor, from whose rooms the website describes the panorama over the Chianti hills. Outside there is a space furnished with a table and chairs. Booking warns that the house runs over two floors with two flights of stairs and no lift. The rooms have a private bathroom and air conditioning; among the services Booking lists a safe, daily cleaning and free WiFi, and the website adds a change of linen every three days and a paid laundry service.

The rule on age is written by Booking in its Child policies block: children are not allowed, and the property has no cots or extra beds. Among the highlights the wording Adults only also appears. The property's website publishes no rules on age, so it does not contradict Booking; neither source gives a figure, so this entry reports none. Booking's Minimum age entry concerns check-in only.

The wellness provision is the hot tub, which Booking puts in the description, among the highlights and among the services, with loungers outdoors. Since the bed and breakfast is reserved for adults, so is the hot tub. Note, though: Booking gives the tub a long winter closure, so anyone looking for it must check their own dates. No sauna, steam bath or gym is declared, and the page warns that since 2021 the pool, which still appears in a few old reviews, is no longer available.

Breakfast is Italian and the website gives it as included in the rate, together with the daily cleaning. On parking the two sources say different things: Booking lists it among the services as free, the property's website specifies that it is a public car park fifty metres away. You arrive between sixteen and nineteen thirty and leave between eight thirty and ten thirty; payment is in cash. Pets are not allowed, there is no smoking, no parties are held and quiet is to be respected between midnight and seven.
