Altarocca Wine Resort

Altarocca is in the Rocca Ripesena locality, the village on the knoll that looks at the cliff of Orvieto from the west, a few kilometres from the old centre and close to the Tuscan border. The resort occupies twenty hectares of organic vineyards and olive groves, with the rooms and suites spread over several farmhouses linked by paths through the aromatic herbs. The winery and the olive mill belong to the estate, and their products end up both on the table at the Invinum restaurant and in the spa's treatments.

The Wine Spa

The wellness area occupies four hundred and eighty square metres. The circuit includes a Finnish sauna and a soft sauna, a steam bath and a Mediterranean bath, sensory showers and an ice fall for the thermal contrast, a heated indoor pool with massage jets, the meditation room with heated water loungers and a panoramic relaxation room. The private spa is booked for exclusive use by two and includes a whirlpool. The treatments are built on the estate's organic wine and extra virgin oil, in vinotherapy and oleotherapy rituals. There is also a fitness area.

One point to know before booking: access to the wellness area is not included in the stay; it is obtained through the Exclusive Spa packages or by staying in the Wellness Suites.

The rule on age

The resort is entirely adults only, spa and pools included. There are not two separate areas: the whole property follows the same rule, and the panoramic outdoor pools among the vine rows stay quiet even in the middle of the day.

It is the choice of anyone who puts wine at the centre of the journey and wants Orvieto and the Tuscia around them, without giving up a day of sauna and massages.
