Description

The Alpin Resort Sacher Seefeld is at Geigenbühelstraße 185, in the residential area of Geigenbühel, above the centre of Seefeld in Tirol, on the Tyrolean plateau at 1,200 metres of altitude. It is a five-star superior hotel with eighty-one rooms and suites, a park of twenty thousand square metres and a wellness department of 4,700 square metres. It welcomes families, and children of every age may stay, with family suites of 55 square metres and rates by age band. The wellness area, though, is not all the same, and that is the point to grasp before booking.

Two departments with two rules

The house divides its wellness explicitly in two. The Alpin Aktiv Spa is the textile area: here there are the Stubensauna between eighty-five and a hundred and five degrees, the bio sauna between forty and sixty-five, the infrared cabin, the laconium at forty degrees, the salt grotto between forty-two and forty-five and a Kneipp circuit with showers, as well as the relaxation rooms with warm loungers and water beds. Swimwear is worn here, and the property writes that in these cabins you do not go nude.

The Spa Chalet, instead, is the swimwear-free area, and the rule is declared in writing: these facilities are used only nude, with the towel under the body in the sauna and in the steam bath. The house adds the sentence that interests us most: the sauna department of the Spa Chalet is accessible only to guests over sixteen. Inside there are a panorama sauna of forty-two square metres between eighty-five and a hundred degrees, facing the peaks of Seefeld, a steam bath between forty and forty-three degrees with a temple of showers, a sauna lounge and an outdoor whirlpool with a terrace and a biotope around it. Twice a week the Tyrolean sauna master leads the infusions. The relaxation room of the Spa Chalet, unlike the cabins, is used dressed, in a bathrobe or in swimwear.

The water and the rest

The pools are several and stay open to families too: a twenty-metre heated infinity sports pool, a panoramic indoor pool and an outdoor one likewise heated, a saline whirlpool in the natural garden and, in the park, a natural bathing pond of six hundred square metres with its alpine beach. The gym opens from 7 to 20, the massage and cosmetic treatments from 9 to 19. There is also a private spa, with a panorama sauna, a steam bath, a pool facing the mountains, a terrace and two treatment couches. Dogs are welcome.

Who it suits

It suits anyone who wants a house of alpine luxury and does not give up the nude sauna in surroundings minors do not enter, while accepting that the rest of the resort, pools included, is shared with families. It suits less anyone looking for a hotel entirely for adults, because it is not one, and anyone who prefers to stay in swimwear in the sauna: in the Spa Chalet that is not provided for.
